BACKGROUND
Scalia has served on the U.S. Supreme Court since 1988 when he was appointed
by President Reagan, who was also the President who appointed the current
Chief Justice, William H. Rehnquist. He served in the Justice Department
under President Ford and taught at Georgetown, University of Chicago
and Stanford prior to being appointed by President Reagan to the US
Court of Appeals.

OF THE SUIT
HEARTS are members of either the U.S. House of Representatives or the
U.S. Supreme Court. The Supreme Court is made up of nine justices who
serve for life and are appointed by the President as vacancies arise.
They interpret and rule on the constitutionality of laws and rules made
by the Congress and Administration when issues arise. They are in power
because you voted for the President who appointed them.
